Fernleigh cottages has been operating for 16 years by the same owners and still loving it.

The difference between Fernleigh and our competitors is its ‘unique’ in every way. It’s a mini resort with personnel service and cheaper than a motel.

This historical property consisting of the homestead and Granny’s Cottage, which was established around 1920 by one of the pioneers of this area, Mr. Edward Gough.

Your first glimpse as you drive into Fernleigh, apart from the homestead, is the huge 100 year old rare Gum trees shading the drive way. Fernleigh has kept the country feeling on this property and guests find it very relaxing, natural and love to wander around the beautiful gardens. One does let time pass by at Fernleigh with the open space and farm land, and with native animals passing though the property, like wombats, rabbits, kangaroos and native birds.

Another unique part of Fernleigh is we can provide accommodation up to 12 families in their own private bedroom for those special family reunions with plenty to do for the children so parents do get a holiday at Mansfield, Fernleigh as well.

Groups that try a different place every year seem to keep coming back to Fernleigh year after year. We have grown up with their children and some even call us Aunty and Uncle. A special treat is organised on Christmas Day and Easter Sunday by our local CFA. On Christmas Day, Santa Clause surprises the children with presents left at the office the night before and the look on their little faces saying “how did Santa know I was here”. At Easter, the Easter Bunny hops around handing out Easter eggs to everyone. The kids sure get excited when the CFA tanker drives up the driveway with its siren going and then they see Santa or the Easter Bunny. Many photos have been taken by our guests to go into their treasured holiday album. Location is great with Mt Buller and Lake Eildon and Fernleigh in the middle.

Services and Products Provided: Fernleigh provides very good service and spotless accommodation with the choice of 5, 3 and 2 bedroom cottages. Facilities include free use of the swimming pool, tennis court, basketball, volleyball, playground area, grassed area to kick a football or play cricket, all sporting equipment provided. Farm animals come up to the fence line for a tickle under the ears and the chooks are happy when they are fed. Yabbies can be tricked on a piece of string with meat at the end to come to the surface. Fernleigh even offers ‘free baby sitting service’ so mum and dad can go out for a well deserved romantic dinner. Our service is also extended to fishing clubs, trail bike groups, sporting groups etc.
